Daniele Watts, an African-American actress who has starred in Hollywood films such as Django Unchained, was “handcuffed and detained” by Los Angeles police officers after being mistaken for a prostitute for kissing her white husband in public.

More on this story can be found here

"She said when she reminded the officer of his oath to "protect and serve," he replied, 'My job's not to serve people like you.' ”

'My job's not to serve people like you.'
'My job's not to serve people like you.'
'My job's not to serve people like you.'
Has everybody got that? Does anyone still think any of this bullshit ‘has nothing to do with race’?

I hate cops.

;___; I hate this world.

All my life I’ve trusted cops to the point of placing them in the same lot as heros. However, over the past month, my faith in such people are starting to dwindle a bit.  I don’t even get how the cop could possibly assume she was a prostitute in the frickin first place!  Did this country suddenly backtrack to the 30s when I wasn’t looking?
Policemen are supposed to be the symbols of protection, not prosecution.

Just a reminder to the world that there is this glorious feminist thing called the Hawkeye Initiative. Where people draw Hawkeye (and possibly other avengers) in various sexual poses that comic artists generally depict women in.

An AU where for your entire life you’ve only seen black and white, until you receive the first touch from your soulmate and color blooms before your very eyes. The colors don’t stay when you’re alone, but when they’re there by your side and you’re touching? Everything is beautiful.

But what if you touch them and you look around and see all the colors, and beauty. You get caught in the moment and ask  ”Do you see it too?” And they reply “What are you talking about?”

That last comment though. Could you imagine being so fully in love and knowing you are with the person you are meant to be with forever. Then you look into their eyes your heart full til bursting, and it all comes crumbling around you because you know all they see when they look at you are hues of gray and black.
